Illuminating the
Bible Prophets Words

Home Page

The Bible Prophets lamentations are cries of grief over a callous dying world with a shameful lack of concern about evil. They have an awareness that man has the ability to change but seems unable to make use of that ability. So the Bible prophets assail the world with the Creator's word to try to bring it out of complacency; bellowing out a battle cry, a call to action. They reveal to the world the Creator's word, a reconciliation of man to the Creator through a covenant; a message of righteousness, justice, hope and salvation.

Critical to salvation is the Name by which we must be saved. Psalm 91:14-16 "Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation." If this is your first visit to Prophets Cry it is suggested to start by reading the article The Name. It is the most important article on this website. It reveals the name that the Creator confirms the Covenant by and requires those in that Covenant to call Him by.

The Ten Commandments are the 10 terms of the Covenant. See the articles under the Ten Commandments navigation bar to understand why they had to be put into writing and why they had to be brought through a particular people. We will also discover the true meaning of each commandment, as the plain requirements of each term of the Covenant is revealed from the words of the Bible prophets. When this section is completed the sad and desperate state of fallen man will be clearly seen. The need and relevancy of the 10 Commandments for the restoration of the Covenant of Life will be completely understood.

The Messiah and the remnant of the Covenant people will be instrumental in the final restoration of the Covenant blessings that were lost. The Bible prophets have given us information to help us understand what we should be doing now and glimpes of what will transpire in the Latter Days. There has been a hindering from understanding much of what they have written because translations of the Bible hide the Hebraic meaning of many words, concepts, and especially Hebrew names. In the Bible the lives of two men named Joshua are clearly types and foreshadowings of the Messiah that is to come.

Readers of Bible translations are hindered from understanding what is to take place in the Latter Days because the name the Hebrew Bible prophets use in the original Hebrew text is not the translated name Joshua (nor is it Jesus). The true name, signs, types, and foreshadowings of the Messiah are revealed in the articles under The Messiah navigation bar. What will also discovered in these articles is the vital part the Covenant people play in the restoration of the Tree of Life (with the Messiah) as the Sons of Oil; as revealed in the life and name of the man Zerubbabel and in the Bible's symbolism in the prophetic vision of the Menorah.

The Bible Dictionary navigation bar is a dictionary that lists and gives accurate definitions of words and articles on single subject matters. The word 'accurate' is used in the previous sentence to distinguish this dictionary from religious dictionaries that give definitions corrupted by religion, particularly of Biblical words. The listings on Prophets Cry website have been thoroughly researched using scholarly resources to return to the original meaning and historical context of words. This is also a valuable Bible study tool for finding, or better understanding, the meaning of words that are used in articles throughout this website. This link will be constantly expanded with new material and restructured over time to become even more useful. Perhaps the most important thing to notice is that many of the the dictionary definitions can be clicked on to open an encyclopedic article on the subject.

The Post Temple History navigation bar is under construction, but Prophets Cry has many articles in progress that will cover what happened in history after the destruction of the First Temple. There is a reason Judaism places any of the Bible prophets after this singular event under Writings; and not under Prophets. It will be shown that the loss of the First Temple resulted in feeble man-made efforts to replace it, with cults that developed into modern religions. You can get a preview of what it will contain by clicking on the navigation bar for Post Temple History

Why do the words in English New Testament translations vary from 138,000 to 190,000; and why do they read so differently? The major reason is that no original manuscripts are known to exist. The age of the New Testament manuscript copies we have today date from the 3rd century C.E. (mostly fragments) to the 16th century C.E. When these New Testament manuscripts and fragments are compared, the discrepancies between them vary from between 200,000 to 400,000; depending on whom you are asking and what standard of comparison is being used. The overall accuracy of the manuscripts for the entire New Testament is 63 percent variant free verses according to the book 'The Text of the New Testament' by Kurt Aland and Barbara Aland; the four Gospels average out at 53.5 percent. The scientific methods used to deduce this is the practice called Textual Criticism; that is defined as the study of manuscripts to try to determine the original form of a text that has variances between copies when a known original is not available. Every one of the New Testament writings are severely affected with these textual problems and this serious issue is just starting to be examined on this website in the the first article on the subject called; "What is Textual Criticism?" It can be found under the navigation bar Textual Criticism

There is an old saying old saying that, 'a picture is worth a thousand words'. So, Prophet's Cry has made available maps of the land of Israel. These maps will prove to be extremely valuable tools for better understanding of the words of the Bible prophets and the history of the Promised Land; from ancient Biblical times to today's current conflict. The maps stand on their own merit as educational material, but also will prove to be useful links when used in conjunction with many of the other articles on this website. The Maps of Israel navigation page is also laid out in an informative story format, so that the maps that relate to the current Middle East conflict can be viewed in a orderly historic sequence.
